Shore Birds: Printmaking fundraiser for the Great Sale Lake
30% of Proceeds will be donated to Friends of the Great Salt Lake
Saturday, August 15
1-4 pm
Ages 14+
Explore the art of relief printmaking in this hands-on workshop focused on creating layered, multi-color bird prints. Students will learn traditional block printing techniques, including carving multiple linoleum blocks and carefully registering each layer to build a single, cohesive image rich with color, texture, and depth.
Inspired by the migratory birds of the Great Salt Lake, this class celebrates movement, pattern, and place. Participants will design and carve their own bird-inspired compositions, then print using a layered process that brings each image to life one color at a time.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to ages 14 and up. All materials and tools are provided, and students will leave with a finished edition of their own prints as well as the skills to continue printmaking at home.
30% of proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to support conservation efforts for the Great Salt Lake and the migratory bird habitats it sustains, with donations going directly to Friends of Great Salt Lake.
