Our classes are ongoing and students are automatically enrolled every month. Please let us know by the last class of the month if you do not want to continue.

Do you understand the basic concepts of painting and are looking to branch out and explore what excites you individually as an artist? Are you interested in learning techniques on how to paint portraiture, landscape, and other difficult subject matter in a variety of styles using your existing painting knowledge as a foundation? Then this class is for you! This class is designed for students who have either a) completed the grayscale and color theory curriculum in the Art Haus beginning oil/acrylic painting class or b) have external experience with value and color theory as a painter, and feel comfortable rendering basic images in paint.

Advanced painting is designed to help students at multiple levels of skill and comfort with paint work to create their own projects (landscape, still life, portraiture, abstraction) and develop their individual voice as painters. Students will collaborate with the instructor to create goals specific to them, while also being exposed to a variety of classical and contemporary painting practices through side-by-side demonstration with the instructor. In addition, students will learn basic art history, business practices, and how to market themselves as an artist.
