This class is open to all skill levels. Students with prior pottery experience are welcome to bring their own pieces to practice on, while those new to pottery can use the practice tiles provided in class.
Take your pottery surface design skills to the next level in our Sgraffito & Mishima Workshop at Art Haus in Salt Lake City, UT!
We’ll cover both traditional and contemporary approaches to sgraffito (carving through colored slips) and Mishima (inlaying designs into clay). Students will practice on two leather-hard clay tiles provided by Art Haus, and are encouraged to bring their own leather-hard pots to decorate (bmix or porcelain recommended, no groggy clay), along with any designs they would like to carve during the session.

If you are not a student of Art Haus, you can purchase a bag of clay from our studio for this class. We do not allow outside clay in our studio. We recommend bmix or porcelain.
