Wild Clay: From Earth to Mug
Saturday, November 22, 2:15-4:15 pm
Ages 14+
Ever wondered how to turn raw earth into usable clay? In this exclusive workshop, visiting instructor Tina Meeks of Quill Pottery (Cleveland, OH) will guide you through the fascinating process of harvesting and preparing wild clay. Tina will share step-by-step instructions, photos, and tips so you can learn how to find and process clay from your own local environment.
During class, you’ll work with clay that Quill Pottery Studio has personally harvested and refined from Lake Erie to hand build your own mug, a unique piece made from one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes. By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away not only with your finished mug but also with the knowledge to start experimenting with wild clay yourself.
